01/02/96 [v3.3] InterBBS was not duplicate checking incomming messages InterBBS will now PURGE all messages in your .MSG files that are older than 30 days. This purge will take place each time you run InterBBS, automatically. InterBBS now has the ability to ZIP up ALL the output files, from ALL the InterBBS Doors, into ONE file. The InterBBS.cfg has been changed to accomodate 2 new options relating to this change. This new feature can be used by HUBS, NODES and REGIONALS, whether using a FrontEnd mailer or not. In prior versions, REGIONALS were sending more information to the HUB, than was necessary. REGIONALS should now see smaller export files. Added another field to the IBBSNODE.HUB file. This entry will tell INTERBBS whether or not you wish to send a ZIP file of ALL the InterBBS score files to your nodes. If this entry is a Y then it will override all the individual games that have been checked with a Y 10/04/95 [v3.2] Program was not reading the IBBSNODE.HUB file correctly when validating the individual entries. 09/16/95 [v3.1] When an error occurs within the program, it will return an error code of 1 (a zero is returned if no error is encountered) thus in a batch file you can take appropriate action. InterBBS will now require that a configuration file be present. A description of this file can be found in the INTERBBS.DOC file. HUB or REGIONAL: The IBBSNODE.HUB file (used by HUBS/REGIONALS only) has been changed. In addition to the previous information (IBBS Node #, State/Country and BBSname) the file will contain information to be used to automatically CRASH/HOLD files via a FrontEnd mailer. You will also be required to identify the Door or Doors being used . A full description of the file can be found in the INTERBBS.DOC file. NODEs will now be able to use a FrontEnd Mailer to send files to their REGIONALS/HUBS. The INTERBBS.CFG file will reflect the required parameters. The Prior Month Top 10 file was not being created properly. The information was correct but the format was not. Many of the Sunrise Doors now have messaging capability. Those Doors that are InterBBS capable and have the message function, will be able to send/receive messages from ALL participants to the BBS' they access the door from. To make the setup somewhat easier, we have included TWO NEW SETUP programs (IBBSCFG.EXE and IBBSHUB.EXE), IBBSCFG.EXE will create the individual INTERBBS.CFG files and IBBSHUB.EXE will create the IBBSNODE.HUB file required for those acting as a HUB or REGIONAL. 01/30/95 [v3.0] Added a new Door to the InterBBS family.. HI-LO Will now trim spaces from the end of the text lines in then IBBSNODE.HUB file 01/10/95 [v2.9] Added a new Door to the InterBBS family.. ACEY DEUCEY! Added a new Door to the InterBBS family.. Word STAIRWAY Added a new Door to the InterBBS family.. WORD WAR A new file will be created at the end of each month, for each InterBBS Door, that will list the Top 10 scores from the prior month. The file will use the Doorname found on the InterBBS command line plus an extension of "T10". The file will be created by the HUB and should be made available for Node downloading as is the combined score file. 08/05/94 [v2.8] We encountered a very strange problem relating to one of the scores in the LADDERS game. A score was being generated that would cause the LADDERS door to error out with an ILLEGAL FUNCTION CALL (Error #5). We have made a change to this program to filter out any such occurance that may be generated from any other Door. If a player wins the game for the month AND is playing on a BBS that has not registered that particular Door game, that player will be bypassed and the next player from a registered BBS will be decalred the winner. Prior versions of InterBBS did not make a distinction between registered and unregistered. 05/11/94 [v2.7] With this release you can now maintain only ONE InterBBS.LOG file or continue to have individual LOG files in each Door directory. To maintain ONE LOG file you MUST SET an IBBSLOG environmental variable. To SET this variable enter the following in your Autoexec.BAT file: SET IBBSLOG=C:\UTILITY\ (assumming you wish to keep the LOG in your UTILITY directory) If you wish to continue maintaining separate LOG files DO NOT USE AN ENVIRONMENTAL VARIABLE. You should be forewarned that if you are using the environmental variable you MUST run your INTERBBS programs single stream ( one at a time ) as the LOG file will not behave well if more than one InterBBS program is trying to access it at one time!!! 03/20/94 [v2.6] There were some reports of a 'file already open' errors. 03/04/94 [v2.5] On several occasions players have shown up in the score file with number of games played higher than mathematically possible during the month. We have put in a check to ensure that these scores are NOT figured into the high score of the month. They will still show daily, but will not be figured in when calculating the HIGH SCORE for the month. There have been a number of reports that the scores from a prior month were still in the ISC file for SOME games. This meant that the current month scores were not being reflected, although they were being accumulated. Upon researching the problem I found that the ISC file was not being deleted during the monthly maintenance cycle. The InterBBS program will now check to see if there are any entries in the ISC from a month other than the current one. If entries of this nature are found, the ISC file will be deleted and will be recreated the next time the door is played. 01/01/94 [v2.4] Under certain conditions, **Not Registered** was still showing in the High Score files, even though the Door was registered. 12/16/93 [v2.3] BBS' were being rejected, even though the correct information was in the IBBSNODE.HUB file. The program was looking for ALL uppercase characters only, in the IBBSNODE.HUB file. This version fixes that and allows for the use of mixed upper/lowercase characters. Added BaseBall Dice to the eligible InterBBS Doors Added Concentration to the eligible InterBBS Doors 11/15/93 [v2.2] Prior to this version, the program would only recognize that you were either a HUB or a NODE. If a Node, you HAD to upload your InterBBS files DIRECTLY to a HUB where all consolidation would take place. With this version of INTERBBS we are introducing another level called a REGIONAL. A REGIONAL can have as many NODES as they wish. Their NODES will send their INTERBBS files to the REGIONAL who in turn combines them and sends them on to the HUB. In turn the REGIONAL would then pick up the most current combined score files and make them available to the NODES. In this way only the REGIONAL has to call to the HUB. A REGIONAL MUST maintain the node number assigned by the HUB but may assign any numbers to their NODES. Command Line Examples --------------------- Node : INTERBBS Monte Monte.cfg Hub : INTERBBS Monte Monte.cfg HUB Regional: INTERBBS Monte Monte.cfg REGIONAL If duplicate entries showed up in the ISC files, InterBBS would delete them. However, they would not be deleted immediately if the dates were equal, rather the program would wait for the dates to be different. The logic has been changed to delete the dupes on the same day it finds it. NODES (not a HUB and not a REGIONAL) will only export scores from their BBS, but will import normally. This will mean smaller export files... thus less time online. Added a check to ensure that a node number can not be 000. If found an appropriate error message will be posted in the log. Layout of the log file revised... should make it a little easier to read. Revised the log entries. If scores are being bypassed because they are not scores for the current month, we will only list the error line once with a count of the number of scores bypassed for that incomming file. When running as a NODE the program was not creating an EXPORT file when the program was run on the 1st of the month. Renamed the ERRORS.RPT file to ERRORS.TXT Added a new file to the Zip, called CFGVALUE.TXT, that contains a matrix of all the values that must match exactly to the HUB or REGIONAL you are calling. A new file is required for ALL HUBS and REGIONALS. This file, IBBSNODE.HUB, will contain information about ALL the BBS' participating in the Sunrise InterbBS games. A detailed description of the file can be found in the INTERBBS.DOC file. 10/05/93 [v2.1] Made some changes to the Errors generated when there is a problem processing the InterBBS files. These errors are recorded in the InterBBS.LOG file. Added a File called Errors.RPT that will contain an explanation of each error for each of the InterBBS Doors. 09/14/93 [v2.0] Speeded up the initial loading of the program Added some duplicate checking when loading the current .ISC file. Added Hiroll Dice to the InterBBS capable list. 08/23/93 [v1.5] As of this release, the number of make-up days, previously required to be exactly as the HUB, can be set individually by each Node. In other words, you can have as many make-up days as you wish or none at all. Will now process unregistered door files properly.
